WALKTHROUGH Gold in Fort Knocks Story Line: The following events take place not too far from the Dark City. The Hammerites owning much land in the Mountains above the city, and of course being rich in Gold Ore, have built a fort over these old mines, and like usual have much wealth to share with the willing thief. Rumors and such led me to an old associate who, like usual, has an interest in artifacts. My only interest is that he, as usual, comes through with the cash after my work is done. I came by an old map barely readable, and only one small section depicted what I thought, could have been a secret passage leading into a Crypt or a Vault, and or it could have had an ale stain on it. Anyway, I found a weak spot in their heavily guarded Fortress...A wall, with badly weathered bricks with just enough foot hold to make it up and over the wall, which just happens to drop straight down into a 100 foot ravine. 1.Passage through the Fort gates is Impossible because all wagons, boxes, and guards from the city are even searched. my way is always unseen! So over the wall to get in, and hopefully out through an old mine shaft. Time will tell, but Gold speaks louder than words. Especially at Fort Knocks. 2.As mentioned above, the only way into the Fort is unseen, and what the map might have depicted. "A secret passage into a Crypt or Vault" or maybe it was just an ale stain? 3.To gain access into the Fort Area you must take the "Mages office key" from the Patrolling Guard. You'll find your black jack on the steps leading into the Library. To the Left of the steps is a Plant growing moss arrows,as is a couple of water arrows a few feet in front of you feet. 4.Your Lock Picks are on the Table in the Library. Use moss arrows to sneak up on the Mage, and the Novices to collect information and valuables. Most of the floors in this mission are hard. There are alot of them in this mission. Dont kill any Novices, or the mission will fail. 5.You can take out the guards at the City Gate if you wish. They will turn their backs to you, if you time it correctly, and then you can read, and collect more valubles. 6.To enter the Electric Power Plant area (a secret gadget the Hammerites have invented..." Magna Flow". Stationary Magnets, and magnets attached to the WaterWheel to generate the Power for the Cities. In this water area you'll find a plaque on the base of the stone near the transformer. Also, you'll find numerous water arrows, and a few gas arrows. For Stealth, pick the Lock on (the City to Fort Door), which is located just straight out the door from the Library door. Put out a torch, left or right, either one to place yourself in darkness. Black jack the Mage Bowman and relieve him of his valuables. The Two Hammer Guards turn and turn, giving you an opportunity to pick the Purses off their belts. There is a spider left of the Fort Gates near the Water, but he will not see you if you're careful. 7.Now through the secret tunnel via the Mages office. As you enter this office, A sword is in the corner on the right standing up from the floor. Pick the Lock on the wall safe for more valuables. The Book on the Desk gives you a clue that there might be a way to navigate by cutting the Astro chart. Behind the chart is the red switch that opens the Secret door leading to the Crypt or Body vault. 8.Use Stealth here once you open the door and take out all the torches, but just remember where the Upright Mausoleum is located{straight ahead. You can leave the Torch lit behind the Mausoleum until you finish collecting loot and obtaining the Key to the First Tower you must enter.(The key is in the treasure chest on top of the Sarcophagus. Once you pick the lock and grab the tower key, you can extinguish the torch above and behind the Mausoleum. The Zombies will not see you, if you're care- full. Collect the flashbombs on the ground and also the moss arrow. Walk past the Last Sarcophagus on the right, but stay to the right of the Mausoleum and follow around to the back of it, and you'll see the underground Crypt. Once done down there, retrace your steps back around the Mausoleum and keep left. You'll find the White Mages Door leading into the fort area. Pick the lock on the Door. 9.Now before you proceed into the fort area, extinguish the torch to the left. Make your way toward tower one, and at the left of the ramp there is another moss arrow plant. To the right of this ramp there are more water arrows. Tower one is the final tower to enter, so proceed to collect the loot and keys to the other towers. Douse out the other two torches, and sneak past the guard on patroll. 10.The Guards in the Towers will turn, so wait for an opportune moment to black jack them to complete the basic tasks of loot and steath. If for any reason you stir up alot of noise or altercations, the mission will fail in Expert difficulty. "My way is always unseen" 11. To tower one and then take the Elevator to the Dining Hall and, so I dont spoil the Target Items, All of the Loot and the Target Items are in Plain sight. Gotcha! No dusting breadcrumbs trying to find the last impossible dime. Now, using your moss arrows and water arrows to make you invisibe when the elevator stops. Theres one guard patrolling this area, and two guards posted at the Vault Room Doors. I will not tell you where the secret passage to the Vault room is, but if you found it, then you must have read a note from your competition, stating that he is after you, and that he is waiting for you somewhere. "Watch your back!" 12. The Vault room has pressure plates mounted in the floor in front of each treasure chest. If you sneak past these Vault Room Guards via the Secret passage, then shoot some moss arrows behind the tables and on the floor before you step down onto the table to reach the floor. Grab the Keys to the Barracks, and read the book. You can take out the guard on the left any time, just stay away from the Pressure Plates that are in front of the Treasure Chests. If the Arrows start flying, the guards will be alerted. Black jack Both Vault Room Guards and Collect the Rest of the Vault Room Treasure. 13.All the doors to the Vault Room and to the Barracks are doubled, so you must have two keys to enter each room. 14. Proceed to Barracks and before entering, take out the torch to the Left.a Hammer Worker taking a break at the Gaming Table is an easy target. The Guard which you cant see is on the Right close to the Practice dummy. He Turns, so be cautious. You'll find the keys to the Engineering room on the belts of the two Hammerites mentioned. 15.After you open the last door into the Engineering Room, There will be a guard to your right. He also turns, but if he does catch you, a flash bomb or gas arrow is workable. 16.Now to make back to the Dark City " the way out is hopefully through an old mineshaft. in the far right hand corner in line with the ore cart is a bunch of crates stacked to partially conceal a boarded off passageway. You can use one the following to remove the board. 1.sword 2.black jack 3. fire arrows 4.explosive charge. Your thief enemy will either here you or not. This is up to you. 16. Follow the old mining cars down the mining tunnel and you will find your enemy waiting for you. If he has'nt been alerted to your presence, then he has his back turned to you. How you kill him is your way, but be aware of his little alarming friend "the big cave spider who will gladly take chunks out of your toes. 17.Once your kill objective has been satisfied, then proceed down the tunnel and when you come to a bunch of boulders blocking the way. Remove them and proceed until you come to the Vertical Shaft which will take you back to the Dark City. There you will find your favorite brew. Just so you know--info 1. In normal,Hard: if you alert the Vault Door Guards,"Mission Compromised" will appear on your screen. This just means you have made too much noise, or failed to keep yourself unseen. 2. If you alert these guards in the expert difficult levels, the mission will fail when you have not used steath as a Master Thief Would...Garrett! GOOD LUCK! DarthsLair
