* * * D E A D L Y D A R K N E S S * * * <<--------------------------------------------->> January 13th, 2002 <<--------------------------------------------->> Author: Tomi Väisänen Contact Info: tomi@the-oakwell-ground.co.uk Date of Release: January 6th 2002 MISSION DESCRIPTION: One day you receive a letter from your old friend Lacatar, who you worked for a long time ago. He's a Grand Master of the Academy of Wizards so he is a rich man... In the letter he speaks about a terrible accident that has happened in the Academy. For some reason undead forces have taken over the place - there are not many guards left after many days of battle. Lacatar needs your help and you're not going to leave your old friend into a trouble. So you get your gear and prepare yourself to the journey... <<<-------------------------------------------------------------------------------->>> *** PLAYING INFORMATION *** Game: THIEF GOLD (should work in 'Thief: The Dark Project') Mission Title: Deadly Darkness File name: miss20.mis Difficulty Settings: Yes Equipment store: Yes Map: Yes (no automap) New graphics: Yes New sounds: No New gamesys: Yes Multi language support: No EAX support: Yes Briefing : No (maybe I'll make one later) Difficulty levels: Easy, Scary, Deadly *** PLAYING TIPS & KNOWN BUGS *** -Read the letter from Lacatar in the beginning!! (it's in your inventory) -Killing ZOMBIES with your Holy Sword can be extremely dangerous! When they "explode" they deal a lot of damage to Garrett (you). So, stay away from zombies when attacking them. It's an annoying bug but I couldn't fix it. Sorry. Using your Holy Sword against other creatures doesn't cause this bug though. -Do not waste your holy arrows and health against the undead in the beginning! Let the guards kill them! Just watch and kill the undead when necessary. (this is just a suggestion of course!) -Even though this is an undead mission, don't forget to sneak! Making too much noise is just a quick way to die. -Remember to read the letters and books in the mission carefully! They contain lots of very useful information. -All the difficulty levels might not work in Thief: Dark Project. If you have any problems try the other difficulty levels. -Blackjacking the undead is not a good idea. So just kill them when necessary. But remember that the others can hear the sounds of the battle. -You don't have to kill everyone. -Remember that there are also other creatures than undead in the mission. Undead creatures should all be transparent but the transparency effects are not working properly with every 3D accelerator. <<<-------------------------------------------------------------------------------->>> *** BUILDING INFORMATION *** Base: From scratch.
