Like all braggarts, they're so smug, yet believe they're so majestic. So why should it be me they ask for help from, when they find themselves in trouble? Just hours ago, after a weary night of business, the damn wizard Shardhang intruded upon my dream, begging me for help: 'Garrett, forgive me for involving you, but there's no one else. And there's no time. The pagans warned me of what was happening at Rumford's old estate. The fairy lights have grown dark. Evil encases the place. I crept inside by morphing myself into a fly. Yet it was a mistake. These men have summoned terrible things into our world. Their portal stands open even now, a gaping hole to another realm. The rooms overflow with their madness...and now they've found me. Garrett, they've dispelled my magic. They hunt me. I’ve retreated to the cellars. I have only minutes to live. I hear such a screeching above me. It sounds like death itself. Garrett, you must come..." What a fool, like the others of his ilk. Still, it'd be a shame to lose Shardhang. He's my eyes into a world I might otherwise never see, except from the shadow. And I've grown tired of creeping in shadows. =================================================================================================== * Important Notes * - The mission is basically the same on the Easy and Hard difficulties, except for the amount of loot needed and one other significant puzzle. On Expert, there are several additional puzzles the player needs to solve to progress through the level. The entire level is accessible on all difficulties - This mission requires the tnhscript package. This is included in the zip. * Changes in Version 1.1 * - The bugs listed below have been fixed, but it's still possible that some remain. The following are still suggestions what to do in case you experience bugs while playing. * Bugs * - Some beta testers were experiencing random crashes towards the later part of the mission. These were resolved on reloading the mission. - If players experience frequent crashes after frobbing items which make onscreen-text appear, it seems safer to wait for the onscreen-text to disappear again before trying to move on. one tester had this problem. Speaking to a character, and then moving on (sometimes even simply turning around) made his game crash. - hitting ESC (e.g. in order to do Hardsaves) also has the risk of producing crashes. Better Try a quicksave first before trying your luck and going to the menu. ===================================================================================================== * Thanks * - Special thanks to Sephy for providing original music - Special thanks to the beta testers.
